Stadium, arena & sports venue
The Monterrey Baseball Stadium, known simply as Monterrey Stadium, is a baseball stadium located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. It was built between 1987 and 1989. Its 27,000 seats make it the largest capacity baseball stadium in Mexico and the third in Latin America (behind the Latin American Stadium in Havana, Cuba; and the La Ceiba Stadium in Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela). It is currently home to the Sultanes de Monterrey, champions of the Mexican Baseball League on 9 occasions. It has also been the home of the now disappeared, Industriales de Monterrey and the venue for various preseason and regular season meetings of the United States Major League Baseball. Sometimes it is used as the venue for musical or religious events. Some important concerts have been those of the Mexican group Maná and the Texan singer Selena as part of the events of the Monterrey Fair.
