Modern art museum

The Center for the Arts is a cultural complex located inside Fundidora Park that includes different buildings that once served as spaces that gave industrial Monterrey its name, now converted into venues dedicated to the creation and dissemination of fine arts. It occupies three old industrial buildings and a pavilion of what was the old Fundidora y Aceros Planos de Monterrey, an architectural complex located within the Industrial, Ecological and Cultural Archaeological Park connected to the Santa Lucía Canal. The three naves and the pavilion that make up the Arts Center are complemented by two spaces that are attached to the cultural complex: The Adolfo Prieto School and the Carlos Prieto Auditorium. The Nave Generadores, the Pabellón de Ruedas, the Adolfo Prieto School and the Carlos Prieto Auditorium were part of the cultural infrastructure that was restored to be used in the different artistic-cultural activities designed for the programming of the event. At the end of the Forum, they were granted as loan to CONARTE at the beginning of 2008. More than 100 years after the restored industrial warehouses that house the Center for the Arts were built, and which began the expansion of the Foundry and the industrial face of Nuevo Leon, they now have a different vocation, focused on the training, production and promotion of visual and performing arts of our country and the world.
