CITIBANAMEX AUDITORIUM: TWO YEARS PRESENTING THE BEST OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT The Coca Cola Auditorium, located in the heart of Fundidora Park in the city of Monterrey, became one of the most recognized buildings in Latin America during its thirteen years of operation, between 1994 and 2007, the year in which it closed its doors to enter in a process of renovation and redesign. Almost three years later, on September 22, 2010, an old acquaintance of the people from Monterrey returned to the stage with a new face and surname, now closed and air-conditioned, with renovated furniture, maximized quality of vision, impeccable acoustic design, flexible configurations for various capacity -from 2,500 to 8,000 people- and a readjusted concept of comfort. It was with the presentation of Vicente Fernández that the building that now bears the name Citibanamex Auditorium was reopened. Some of the events that took place in 2010 at Auditorio Banamex included Kiss, Chayanne, Bunbury, Premios Oye!, Miguel Bosé, Camila, Calamaro, among others, while 2011 hosted successful events such as Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias, Iron Maiden , Luis Miguel, Rammstein, Zoé, Interpol, The Strokes, Slayer, Caifanes, Alejandra Guzmán and Moderatto, Gloria Trevi, Duelo and the World Meeting of Values, among many others. This year has seen so far and among others, concerts as diverse as The Kooks, Apocalyptica, Anthrax, Bob Dylan, Emmanuel, Franco de Vita, Yuri, La Leyenda, Pesado, Los Claxons, impressive international shows such as A Muse, The Illusionists and Fire of Anatolia, and well-attended second rounds by Vicente Fernández, Duelo and Bunbury, among others, the latter being the godfather of the second anniversary of the Auditorium, presenting his Licenciado Cantinas tour. With more than 70 performances in 50 events, and an attendance of more than 300,000 seats in 2012, Auditorio Banamex, operated by OCESA, the leading out-of-home entertainment company in Latin America, continues to make history in the city with the most important shows for everyone public, comfortably, safely and with world class.
