Description
Trial of a Fox is a play by the Spanish playwright Miguel del Arco, directed by Rennier Piñero, starring actress Claudia Marín. A play that raises the question of the redemption of the mythical character of Helen of Troy from the jaws of historical and hegemonically masculine narration. Helen herself subjects the audience to a historical journey to rethink and destroy myths and beliefs about the character created by Homer in The Iliad, accused of provoking the war for the conquest and destruction of Troy, based on her beauty.
A version of the myth of Helen of Troy, told by herself. It is she who speaks to us, who tells us about her life journey, who allows us to know that other side of history, a woman who proclaims her innocence and defends her dignity. Through a delicate mechanism of theatrical goldsmithing, in each of the phases of Due Process, Helen weaves a tribute to a great woman through words. Our Helen speaks from the stand to a popular jury, demanding justice and asking in the light of eternity, to be forgotten. We will meet the woman behind the myth, a woman who was repeatedly robbed, extorted, abused, used, vilified, an endearing, passionate, feverish, fervent and hurt being, who speaks bluntly.
In a Tour de Force, in which she shows sensuality, courage, happiness, bitterness but above all the maturity and experience that are gained with the passing of the years through eternity, Helen of Troy changes the roles and judges her detractors and abusers as a woman and a thinking human being.
