Who was Marcos Cipac? Have you ever heard of him? Gathering the few historical sources that attest to this enigmatic figure, an actor embarks on a quest to unravel this man's identity and the enigmatic image attributed to him. To do so, he uses fiction, the tool best known by a stage director. In this fiction, Cipac Cuautlatoah is a writer of Aztec codices who, after the fall of his city, forced to renounce his gods, his language, and his name, is taken by the invaders to be trained as a painter of religious images. Baptized Marcos, one night he receives a peculiar assignment: to perform a miracle. In exchange, they offer to allow him to do what was forbidden in his profession: to put his name on one of his works and be remembered as the greatest painter of New Spain.
