The monologue \"Alone in the Desert\" covers a good part of the life of the painter Manuel Rodríguez Lozano, from his childhood, his stormy marriage with Carmen Mondragón (Nahui Olin), his beginnings as a painter, the tragic love relationship with his pupil Abraham Ángel, his relationship with the Muralists and the Contemporáneos, but above all, the close friendship with María Antonieta Rivas Mercado, in an era marked by great changes in culture and society, but also by strict morality. Ahead of his time, Manuel Rodríguez Lozano challenged at all times the social conventions that he had to live, becoming a reference of resistance..
