The Future of the Ocean
Mario Cuesta Hernando / Spain 2022 / 52 min

Does the ocean have a future or will it be a blue desert? The Spanish Institute of Oceanography is working to achieve a sustainable and healthy ocean in a race against time.

The oceans are going through a critical moment for their future. Problems arising from overfishing, the health of marine habitats or pollution require immediate attention. Only science can respond to these threats, and that is why the UN has declared the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. In Spain, the Spanish Institute of Oceanography is leading this mission against the clock to guarantee a future where the ocean and human beings can live in balance.

Also the short film "The return of the mangroves".

Join this movie night to reflect and share about the future of the ocean, discover other local initiatives that will enrich the experience of watching movies together and reserve your participation in the Environmental Action Workshop, where products such as toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, repellent with natural ingredients will be made. A proposal to encourage the reduction of plastic packaging and a better use of non-industrialized ingredients that nature offers.
