Description
Aluna: A call to human conscience.
An indigenous civilization hidden in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, Colombia, the Kogi are the subject of this documentary produced in 1990 by British filmmaker Alan Ereira, in which they urge the world to save the environment. Twenty years later, the Kogi people reached out to Ereira again, to solicit their help in spreading their message with urgency.
Kogi's are deeply frightened of what we are doing to the planet, because we have no knowledge of the forces that are unleashed.
Through the film, the Kogi share their worldview that EVERYTHING is interconnected, and that interfering (build, block, impact) geographic points causes planetary imbalances.
The Kogi people live practically in isolation, on a mountain nearly 6,000 meters high off Colombia's Caribbean coast. The mountain’s geographical isolation and its unique features make the place a kind of “microcosm” that houses a whole range of the planet’s ecological areas.
